Plane Dodge
Unity game created at a HackUPC challenge for Vueling, designed to entertain passengers while waiting for flights.
Plane Dodge was built during a hackathon environment with tight time constraints and a new toolchain. The project focused on shipping a playable experience fast while learning Unity and C# on the spot.
It remains a useful example of speed, adaptability, and execution under pressure rather than long-horizon product refinement.
HackUPC gathered hundreds of hackers for a 36-hour build sprint, with sponsor-specific challenges on top of the open hackathon format. The team chose Vueling's challenge: design a multiplayer, cooperative entertainment system for people waiting in the boarding queue.
The answer was a lightweight mobile game based around flying paper planes through rings and obstacles, keeping the concept accessible and easy to understand quickly.

The shipped prototype included single-player practice levels, multiplayer support for up to four players, and basic unlockables such as plane colours and trails.
What mattered most was the speed of adaptation: starting with almost no practical Unity experience, then still getting to a functioning prototype within the time box.
